Kelsay Butte Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time
    which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. The length of Kelsay Butte Trail is about average with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this backpacking trail magnificent for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Kelsay Butte Trail has
only one trailhead, so you'll be backcountry hiking it in and back out. Oregon is a fine location for outdoors folks. Wilderness hiking trails for backpacking, and backpacking can be found all over Oregon, and one of these is Kelsay Butte Trail in Grant County. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. This is one of many backpacking trails in the surrounding area. There are numerous backcountry hiking trails in Oregon, and each one has its  
own character. Summertime at Kelsay Butte Trail arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 30's. Highs during the wintertime are ordinarily in the 30's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Kelsay Butte Trail tend to be in the 10's. The total elevation difference for Kelsay Butte Trail is 884 feet which is lower than average. It is very waterless here at Kelsay Butte Trail usually; during the month of November you get the most rain around here, and July on the other hand is the driest. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. The time needed for this hike is roughly 6.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Backpacking here in the Blue Mountains is a fine way to explore these peaks.

And that's not all you can do here at Kelsay Butte Trail. If you come at the right time of year, John Day River - North Fork offers some glorious whitewater. Lost Horse Meadow is a picturesque site any time of year, and a short trip to Handy Spring is always worthwhile.
Kelsay Meadows is a good location to check out; you can stay the night at Trough Creek Campground. If you want a nice time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Blue Mountains. If you're here at Kelsay Butte Trail, you could check out Big Creek. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Kelsay Butte Trail has to offer, you can camp at Lehman Hot Springs. This is a great river. Kelsay Spring is a wonderful site to visit while you're at Kelsay Butte Trail; a quick journey to Bismark Creek is certainly a brilliant idea.
