  Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Janus Butte Trail in Marion County, Oregon is such a magnificent location. Great outdoors trails are perfect and plentiful in Oregon, and Janus Butte Trail in Marion County is one of them. Every Oregon backpacking and hiking trail has its own character. This hiking and backpacking trail has a total elevation difference of 2,376 feet which is an average number. This is a long backpacking trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. You'll need to go far from Hood River
    to get to Janus Butte Trail, but you always have a magnificent time when you're backcountry hiking along it. For the period of the warm days of summer, highs generally are in the 70's at Janus Butte Trail. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. All through the winter highs
are mostly in the 40's, and night lows in the 30's for Janus Butte Trail. Different parts of Janus Butte Trail are at very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the backpacking and hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. Janus Butte Trail is a mid-length backpacking trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this wilderness hiking trail tremendous for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. This neighborhood does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you  
go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. A great deal of rainfall falls at Janus Butte Trail; December is when you get the most rain here, and July is when it's the driest. Backcountry backpacking here in Oregon is something that is always fun to do. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. The backpacking trails of the Central Cascade Range are a very delightful way to see these mountains. With its 8.2 miles of walking distance it's a mid length backcountry walk. Janus Butte Trail is a one trailhead hiking and backpacking trail, so you'll be trekking it in and back out. The time needed for this trek is roughly 7.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This is one of many wilderness hiking trails in the surrounding area. Backcountry hiking in Oregon is such a glorious thing to do.

Briefly about the general area:
Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff close to Janus Butte Trail. Camping is available at Skookum Lake Campground, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Breitenbush River. Don’t forget to go to Fawn Meadow since you're here at Janus Butte Trail; you could always explore Graham Pass.
Visit Elk Lake Creek while you're here at Janus Butte Trail, and why not camp at B and B Rentals if you're here at Janus Butte Trail. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. There are some good whitewater spots on Collawash River, and Round Meadow is a good site here at Janus Butte Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Cascade Range.
Take a side visit to Pine Cone Creek It's always perfect to stop at Maryanne Spring.
