Oregon hiking trails - Island Lake Trail, Central Cascade Range, Lane County

   
  There are plenty of wilderness trails in Oregon; each one of them is different from the others. Here in Oregon backpacking is a good way to spend some time. Time to get out, and breathe some fresh air, and Island Lake Trail in Lane County, Oregon is a nice location to go. This great outdoors trail has a total elevation difference of 1,361 feet which is about average. Island Lake Trail sees pretty high levels of rainfall; December is the wettest month with most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. This great outdoors trail has only one trailhead,
    so in and out is the way to walk it normally. This hike shouldn't take more than 7 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. There's not much difference in elevation along the hiking trail, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole
hiking trail. Island Lake Trail is 8.2 miles long it's an average length hiking trail. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. This is an area covered with lots of great outdoors hiking trails. Hiking and backpacking trails for backpacking, and backpacking can be found all over Oregon; one of them being Island Lake Trail in Lane County. While visiting this area in Oregon it's an excellent idea to go backcountry trekking too. Island Lake Trail is a mid-length wilderness trail having an average number of uphill miles  
which makes this a very tough great outdoors hiking trail for advanced trekkers looking for a good challenge. Through the long summer days highs here at Island Lake Trail reach the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; night lows through the wintertime for Island Lake Trail tend to be in the 20's. Now this trail is pretty long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Island Lake Trail is quite isolated from the least distant city, and it is a nice shelter from the city. Sometimes this trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. The wilderness trails of the Central Cascade Range are an excellent way to explore these mountains.

Deer Creek flows through this area; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Salt Creek. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! The Central Cascade Range is unbeatable! Since you're here at Island Lake Trail why not visit Pengra Pass; a quick visit to Bechel Creek is definitely a good idea.
You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors fun things the Central Cascade Range has to offer. You should certainly dedicate some time to Riggs Meadow while you're here at Island Lake Trail, and a short spree to Salt Creek Falls is always worthwhile. You just ought to go for Island Lake Trail. A great place like Pothole Meadow here at Island Lake Trail is too great to miss, and a spree to Klovdahl Bay is always a pleasant idea.
Lillian Falls is a pretty place to stop at while you're at Island Lake Trail; Island Lake Trail is a great place to visit for more than one day, Shelter Cove Resort is a great place to camp nearby. If you come at the right time of year, Hills Creek offers some fine whitewater. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Island Lake Trail has to offer, you can camp at Twin Springs Campground.
