Oregon hiking trails - Intake Trail, Umatilla County

Summertime highs at Intake Trail mostly tend to be in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 40's. Highs throughout the wintertime are frequently in the 30's; throughout
    the dark hours in the wintertime at Intake Trail temperatures drop to the 20's. There are numerous wilderness trails in Oregon, and each one has something unique to offer. Going for a backcountry walk here in Oregon is a brilliant idea. The time needed for this walk is roughly
2.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. This backpacking and hiking trail is on the short side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a glorious backpacking trail for the average person looking for a glorious adventure. Being 3 miles long it's a shorter type walk. There are not too many backpacking trails in this vicinity. The total elevation difference for Intake Trail is 1,716 feet, and that is about average. Outdoors people generally like this part of Oregon. At parts  
of the year this region sees very little rain, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Some parts of Intake Trail are much higher up than other parts of the wilderness trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the wilderness trail. The amount of precipitation that falls at Intake Trail is in close proximity to the national average; the wettest month of the year is mostly November, that's the one that rains the most; July is when it's the driest. This is a two-ended wilderness hiking trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry walk it just one way. Even though this is not a very long great outdoors hiking trail it's always good to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go.

It's a good idea to explore Broken Creek, it's right next door to Intake Trail; Sheep Spring is always fun to check out. Timothy Spring Campground is a great campground nearby.
Don't forget to take a great little journey to Low Creek, and Bone Spring Campground is a great local campground.
