Oregon hiking trails - Indian Rock Trail, Blue Mountains, Grant County

   
  Indian Rock Trail is a trail pretty far from Pendleton-Hermiston, but It's always enjoyable to trek here. This part of Oregon is always a diversion to check out during hiking season. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in the wilderness a bit, and Indian Rock Trail in Grant County, Oregon is a wonderful spot for getting out. Trekking in Oregon never gets boring. Backcountry hiking here in the Blue Mountains is the best way to enjoy these mountains. Throughout the months of summer at Indian Rock Trail highs are generally in the 80's. During

This hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. This backpacking trail is a normal length backpacking trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this hiking trail splendid for hard core backpackers

Not much rainfall falls here at Indian Rock Trail; the month with most of the rain is November, and July on the other hand is the driest. The total elevation difference for this backpacking and hiking trail is 1,118 feet, and that is about average. Indian Rock Trail is 7.2 miles long it's a mid length trek. This backpacking and hiking trail has two trailheads, so backcountry backpacking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. The trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. Good hiking trails in Oregon are in abundance, and among these are Indian Rock Trail in Grant County.

Briefly about the general area:
Bear Paw Meadow is a good place to check out, and a nice spot to camp here at Indian Rock Trail is Trough Creek Campground. Whitewater paddling is great on John Day River - North Fork, and some of the water close by flows, like Pole Creek.
So many enjoyable things in close proximity to Indian Rock Trail, definitely impressive. Just can't get enough of the Blue Mountains. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Head O'Boulder Spring, and hey, South Fork Desolation Creek is a glorious local stream. Desolation Meadows is a brilliant site, and camping at Deerhorn Campground is always a good experience.
