The total elevation difference for Horse Creek Trail is 1,926 feet which is about average. This is one of a very small number of great outdoors hiking trails in this vicinity. When you're here in Oregon backcountry hiking along one of its hiking and backpacking trails is the pleasant
    thing to do. This backcountry hiking trail has two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry walk it just one way. Horse Creek Trail is 25 miles long; it's a long trail. Different parts of this trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind
that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. The backpacking trails of the Coast Ranges are the best way to enjoy these summits. Oregon has plenty of pleasant hiking and backpacking trails, and one of these is Horse Creek Trail in Lincoln County. Each hiking and backpacking trail in Oregon has its own character. All through the days of summer at Horse Creek Trail highs are ordinarily in the 60's with overnight lows in the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 50's; during the dark hours in the winter at Horse  
Creek Trail temperatures drop to the 30's. A good deal of precipitation falls at Horse Creek Trail; through the month of December you get the most rain around here; July on the other hand is the driest. Horse Creek Trail is many miles long having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a good great outdoors hiking trail for experienced backcountry walkers in nice shape. Horse Creek Trail is quite long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. This backcountry trek should take you about 4 days, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need.

Briefly about the general area:
You should go to Grassy Point when you're here at Horse Creek Trail, and there's whitewater on Drift Creek for all you adrenaline junkies. That right there is a lot of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Coast Ranges has it all. A great place to camp here at Horse Creek Trail is Kozy Kove Marina, and don't leave Horse Creek Trail without first paying a visit to Klickitat Spring.
If only every site had this much outdoors cool stuff, what a great globe it would be. Gold Creek flows through this vicinity, and camping is available at Happy Landing RV Park and Marina. There's some flowing water close by, Boulder Creek is a stream you can take a look at while you're here; you can run the rapids of Alsea River.
You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Coast Ranges. Places like Barclay Meadows are fine to stop by; the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Cold Spring. Nearby Hellion Canyon is a magnificent spot to go if you're at Horse Creek Trail, and a forest nearby is Siuslaw National Forest.
