The total elevation difference for Hiyu Trail is 1,264 feet which is an average number. Keep in mind that this is a long hiking trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. This area does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Hiyu Trail is 6.8 miles long it's a mid length backcountry walk. The wilderness trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. Hiyu Trail has only one trailhead, so you'll be backpacking it in and back out. This backcountry walk shouldn't take more than 6 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster.
