this hike taking about 4.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. The high level of rain makes Hills Creek Trail a pretty wet site; December is when you get the most rain here, and July is when it's the driest. This backpacking
trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. The total elevation difference for this hiking trail is 1,224 feet, and that is about average. Hills Creek Trail is very far from the most adjacent
sizeable town, and backcountry hiking along this wilderness hiking trail is very fun. There are backpacking and hiking trails all over Oregon; one of those is Hills Creek Trail in Lane County. Backcountry trekking here in the Central Cascade Range is a really great way to spend
quality time in nature.
Briefly about the general area: A quick tour to Wolf Creek near Hills Creek Trail is a good idea, and camping at Oakridge RV Park is always a good experience. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors amusing things the Central Cascade Range
has to offer. If you come at the right time of year, Hills Creek offers some great whitewater, and you have to without doubt dedicate some time to Wolf Prairie since you're here at Hills Creek Trail. There are some good whitewater spots on Salt Creek; if you came to camp Shelter Cove Resort is a fine spot to do that. It's a great idea to pop by Pinto Creek, it's near Hills Creek Trail.
