Oregon hiking trails - High Trail, Blue Mountains, Grant County

   
  Each backcountry hiking trail in Oregon has its own unique loveliness. Many miles from the least distant settlement you have High Trail, and it sure is a a good hiking trail. When was the last time you got out in nature a bit? High Trail in Grant County, Oregon is a really magnificent spot to spend some time. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to High Trail. During the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. During the winter highs are frequently in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at High Trail temperatures drop to the 20's. And keep
    in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. This part of Oregon is always a pleasure to explore during hiking season. High Trail is 11 miles long; it's a long trail. Sometimes this great outdoors hiking trail gets really dry, so don’t forget to check for
any current fire restrictions before you go. Different parts of this trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the trail. Of course, this is an overnight trek, 1.5 days normally, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. This is a great outdoors hiking trail that is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. High Trail is a location that is rather dehydrated typically; the wettest month of the year is typically November, that's the one  
that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is July. High Trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out backcountry trek. Trails like this one here in the Blue Mountains are a really wonderful way to spend quality time in the wilderness. There are backcountry hiking trails all over Oregon; one of those is High Trail in Grant County. Here in the great state of Oregon trekking is a brilliant idea. High Trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough hiking trail for advanced backcountry trekkers looking for an outstanding challenge. The total elevation difference for High Trail is 3,624 feet which is higher than average. The number of hiking trails in this neighborhood is not very high.

Briefly about the general area:
Camping is available at Mt Vernon Motel and Trailer Park; the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Bear Flat Springs. Now, you may assume that's a heap but there's even more cool things to do here in the Blue Mountains. The Hole is a delightful site to stretch your legs a bit, and why not stop at nearby Damon Creek since you're here at High Trail.
Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! The Blue Mountains is great!. Capsuttle Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth checking out; a visit to Cold Spring will fill your spirit with wonderful feelings. John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is a perfect spot near High Trail, and why not camp at Hitching Post Trailer Court since you're here at High Trail.
Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at High Trail. Near High Trail you hit upon Buck Gulch which is a great spot to have a look at; a pleasant spree to Bear Flat is a glorious way to spend an afternoon.
