Herman Creek Trail has a total elevation difference of 3,514 feet, and that is higher than average. This neighborhood does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. a great outdoors trail of nice length with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this hiking and backpacking trail great for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Of course, this is an overnight backcountry hike, 2 days normally, so it's a fine thing if your
backpack is big enough to do the job. You'll have to go far from Hood River to get to Herman Creek Trail, but when you spend some time backcountry backpacking here you will feel like a whole new person. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so if you can get
a ride from someone, you can backcountry hike it just one way. Some parts of this trail are much higher up than other parts of the trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the trail. Herman Creek Trail is quite long, so
make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Backcountry hiking trails like this one here in the Central Cascade Range are the best way to enjoy these peaks. Herman Creek Trail gets lots of water; through December this neighborhood sees the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest
month.
Briefly about the general area: Saint Martins Hot Springs is a delightful location to go to while you're at Herman Creek Trail, and lots of folks from Hood River come here. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Cascade Range.
Drift down the rapids of Hood River - Lake Branch in a kayak, and Cascade Locks Koa Kampground is a perfect campground here. This river is so wonderful. Camping at Herman Creek Trail is pleasant fun, Wind Mountain Resort is a pleasant local campground, and spots like Benson Plateau
are pleasant to visit. This is such a great river. Yep, outdoors entertaining things truly is abundant here in the Central Cascade Range. Smokey Spring is always fun to check out, and Herman Creek Trail is near Gold Dust Rock which is positively worth visiting. So many enjoyable
things to do at Herman Creek Trail, so little time. If you come at the right time of year, Wind River offers some good whitewater; getting to Mullinix Creek from Herman Creek Trail is simple. Some of the water close by flows, like Whisky Creek, and Anderson Point is relatively close.
