Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the
    winter at Helen Creek Way temperatures drop to the 20's. There are so many backpacking and hiking trails in this vicinity. Now this great outdoors trail is pretty long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. No chance of getting bored in Oregon if you like the wilderness. Backpacking
and hiking trails like this one here in the Central Cascade Range are the best way to enjoy these summits. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. You should count on this hike taking about 8.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. The total elevation difference for this wilderness hiking trail is 2,969 feet which is a higher than average number. Helen Creek Way is a wilderness trail of wonderful length having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough backpacking and hiking trail for  
advanced backcountry trekkers looking for a good challenge. This area does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Some parts of this backpacking and hiking trail are much higher up than other parts of the backpacking and hiking trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backpacking and hiking trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Helen Creek Way a wet place; December is the month that gets the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. Backpacking here in Oregon is always an amusing thing to do. Many miles from the least distant city you have Helen Creek Way, and It's always amusing to backcountry trek here. With its 10 miles of walking distance; it's considered a longer trek. Helen Creek Way is a two ended wilderness hiking trail with two trailheads, so hiking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back.

Why not pop by nearby Last Creek if you're here at Helen Creek Way, and a good spot like Wolf Prairie here at Helen Creek Way is too good to miss. Any time is a good time at Helen Creek Way if you like the outdoors. Float down the rapids of Hills Creek in a kayak.
If you come at the right time of year, Salt Creek offers some great whitewater; Fuji Meadow is a great site here at Helen Creek Way. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Cascade Range. Salt Creek Falls is a wonderful local attraction, and camping at Shelter Cove Resort is always a splendid experience. Don't forget to take a perfect little trip to Petite Creek, and Helen Creek Way is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Twin Springs Campground is a pleasant local campground.
