time needed for this backcountry walk is roughly 6.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This backcountry trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the backcountry trail could be very different from
other parts of it. Each one of the many great outdoors trails of Oregon is well worth a backcountry hike. The total elevation difference for this wilderness hiking trail is 2,688 feet, and that is higher than average. Sometimes this great outdoors trail gets really dry, so do check
for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire.

There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Coast Ranges. Camping at AT River Edge RV Resort is always a pleasant experience, and this is
a popular spot for people from Brookings. There's some flowing water close by, Farmer Creek is a stream you can visit while you're here, and as expected Koontz and Davis Creek flows through this region.
Camping is available at Whaleshead Beach Campground; Bull Gulch is close by, and is a wonderful place.
