The total elevation difference for Hale Spring Trail is 1,734 feet which is about average. This backcountry trail has only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to backcountry trek it normally. This neighborhood does get very dry sometimes, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Even though this is not a very long wilderness hiking trail it's always delightful to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. With its 2.4 miles of walking distance it's a short hiking trail. Different parts of Hale Spring Trail are at very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. You should count on this backcountry hike taking about 2 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.
