temperatures at Grouse Spring Trail through the months of summer are in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while Grouse Spring Trail nighttime low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 20's. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in location. Grouse Spring Trail is a very long way away from modern life, and it's one of those spots where hiking is nice. Sometimes this backpacking trail gets really dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Getting to Roberts Creek from Grouse Spring Trail is painless; a pleasant journey to Dead Horse Basin is a fine way to spend an afternoon. While you're here at Grouse Spring Trail it's a delightful idea to visit Little Meadows, and some nearby water includes Black Mountain Creek.
All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Blue Mountains will keep you coming back repeatedly. Wickiup Campground is a good campground nearby, and a trip to Grouse Spring Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Goose Spring. Indian Springs Campground is a wonderful local campground; Thompson Gulch is a magnificent site to spend some time. This place, Grouse Spring Trail, it clearly has so much outdoors fun stuff. A short spree to Blue Mountain Hot Springs is always worthwhile.
