The total elevation difference for this great outdoors trail is 1,573 feet, and that is about average. Grassy Knob Trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of backcountry backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. Being 7 miles long it's a mid length hike. The time needed for this walk is roughly 6 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Now this trail is pretty long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Sometimes this trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Grassy Knob Trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the hiking and backpacking trail could be very different from other parts of it.
