    trailhead, so in and out is the way to hike it normally. The total elevation difference for this trail is 441 feet which is a lower than average number. Even though this is not a very long backcountry hiking trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something
happens. With its 4.6 miles of walking distance it's an average length trail. There's not much difference in elevation along the trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your backcountry trek. While visiting this region in Oregon it's a tremendous idea to go backcountry trekking too. Every Oregon hiking and backpacking trail is different from the others. Trekking here in the Central Cascade Range is the best way to enjoy these mountains. You should count on this backcountry hike taking about 4 hours, but you never know stuff  
could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. There are so many magnificent hiking and backpacking trails for backcountry backpacking in Oregon, and Gordan Peak Trail in Linn County is one of them. This is a region covered with lots of hiking trails. All through the long summer days at Gordan Peak Trail highs are commonly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's, and overnight lows during the wintertime for Gordan Peak Trail tend to be in the 30's. Gordan Peak Trail is a wet place that gets a large amount of rain; most of the rain falls during December; July is the month with the least moisture. The length of this great outdoors hiking trail is about average with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this hiking trail good for the average backcountry walker looking for an exciting adventure.

Looking for some flowing water? Try Single Creek; soar down the rapids of Santiam River - Middle in a kayak.
Camping is available at Tombstone Prairie Campground, and get wet paddling on Santiam River - North. These mountains rock, just look at all the cool stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. If you came for an overnight stay Country Star Recreational Vehicle Park is a glorious spot to camp, and why not take a little visit to Scar Creek if you're here.
