The total elevation difference for this wilderness hiking trail is 441 feet which is a lower than average number. For the period of the warmest time of the year at Gordan Peak Trail temperatures are commonly in the 70's, and the nighttime is quite colder of course, usually in the
50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Gordan Peak Trail. You should count on this backcountry hike taking about 4 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Being 4.6 miles long
it's a mid length trek.

Tombstone Prairie Campground is a great place to do that, and a quick trip to Scar Creek is without doubt a delightful idea. Gordan Peak Trail is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Country Star Recreational Vehicle Park is a fine local campground, and there are some great whitewater spots on Santiam River - Middle.
