Oregon hiking trails - Gordan Peak Trail, Central Cascade Range, Linn County

   
  Far from modern life you stumble on Gordan Peak Trail, and wilderness trails like these are fine. Gotta get out of the urban center man, and Gordan Peak Trail in Linn County, Oregon is a nice spot for getting out. There are plenty of wilderness trails in Oregon; each one of them has its own character. Even though this is not a very long backcountry hiking trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. Gordan Peak Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about
    the same from start to finish. As long as you like the wilderness you will like Oregon. Sometimes this backcountry hiking trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. There are so many hiking trails
in this vicinity. Gordan Peak Trail usually gets much precipitation; December is the wettest month with most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Hiking and backpacking trails are great and plentiful in Oregon, and one of those is Gordan Peak Trail in Linn County. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. These trails here in the Central Cascade Range are a wonderful way to explore these highlands. When you're here in Oregon backpacking along one of its wilderness trails is something that is always fun to do.  
Gordan Peak Trail has only one trailhead, so you'll be backcountry trekking it in and back out. Gordan Peak Trail is a mid-length trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this hiking trail good for the average backcountry hiker looking for a cool adventure. The total elevation difference for this wilderness hiking trail is 441 feet which is a lower than average number. For the period of the warmest time of the year at Gordan Peak Trail temperatures are commonly in the 70's, and the nighttime is quite colder of course, usually in the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Gordan Peak Trail. You should count on this backcountry hike taking about 4 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Being 4.6 miles long it's a mid length trek.

Briefly about the general area:
There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Santiam River - North, and needless to say Single Creek flows through this area.
If you came to camp Tombstone Prairie Campground is a great place to do that, and a quick trip to Scar Creek is without doubt a delightful idea. Gordan Peak Trail is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Country Star Recreational Vehicle Park is a fine local campground, and there are some great whitewater spots on Santiam River - Middle.
