The total elevation difference for this trail is 493 feet which is lower than average. Even though this is not a very long wilderness trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. This is a two-ended trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can hike it just one way. You spend the whole trek in roughly the same elevation zone which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. This wilderness trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. The time needed for this backcountry hike is roughly 3.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Being 4.2 miles long it's an average length great outdoors hiking trail.
