Oregon hiking trails - Ginkgo Trail, Southern Cascade Range, Jackson County

   
  Finally, backpacking time is here again, and if you happen to be in Jackson County of Oregon, Ginkgo Trail is a great local great outdoors hiking trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. There are numerous hiking trails in Oregon, and each one is worth backcountry backpacking. Backcountry backpacking here in Oregon is something that is always fun to do. A long drive divides Medford from Ginkgo Trail, but it is an amusing spot to trek. Glorious hiking trails in Oregon are in abundance, and Ginkgo Trail in Jackson County is one of them. This backpacking
    trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. There's not much difference in elevation along Ginkgo Trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your backcountry hike.
A visit to Oregon is not complete without some backcountry backpacking. This trek shouldn't take more than 8.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. With its 9.4 miles of walking distance; it's considered a longer backcountry hike. At parts of the year this vicinity sees very little rain, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Backcountry hiking here in the Southern Cascade Range is a very delightful way to see these hills. Ginkgo Trail is a nice place of typical rainfall;  
the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is July. The total elevation difference for this backpacking trail is 1,087 feet which is about average. This is an area covered with lots of wilderness hiking trails. This is a long trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. All through the days of summer at Ginkgo Trail temperatures are generally in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are frequently in the 40's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Ginkgo Trail fall into the 20's. This wilderness trail is many miles long having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a wonderful wilderness hiking trail for experienced backcountry walkers in good shape. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go.

Briefly about the general area:
Lick Creek flows through this region, and you should unquestionably dedicate some time to Dead Soldier Meadow while you're here at Ginkgo Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Southern Cascade Range. Don't leave Ginkgo Trail without first paying a visit to Alder Spring.
There's some flowing water nearby, Dead Soldier Creek is a stream you can pop by while here, and why not camp at Mountain Home Mobile Village if you're here at Ginkgo Trail. But wait, there's more cool stuff to do in the Southern Cascade Range. Glide down the rapids of Rogue River - North Fork in a kayak; if you haven’t been to Crater Lake National Park, you must schedule some time for it if you're here. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things right next door to Ginkgo Trail. If you came for an overnight stay Prospect Rv Park is a glorious place to camp, and Hemlock Spring is an inspiring site to stop by during your stay.
Get yourself into a kayak and hit Rogue River - North Fork; a great place to pop by nearby is Lookout Gulch.
