Oregon hiking trails - Francis Way, Central Cascade Range, Lane County       Here in the perfect state of Oregon backcountry trekking is always an enjoyable thing to do. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Francis Way in Lane County, Oregon is a good place for getting out. Oregon is a nice site for outdoors people. Being .6 miles long it's a short great outdoors trail. Francis Way is on the short side having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a perfect wilderness trail for the average person looking for a perfect adventure. The time needed for this trek is roughly .5     hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Every backcountry hiking trail in Oregon is stunning in its own way. This is one of a very small number of wilderness trails in this neighborhood. Francis Way frequently gets much rainfall; during the month of November you get the most rain around here; July on the other hand is the driest. Oregon has plenty of perfect backcountry hiking trails; Francis Way is one of them, and it's in Lane County. Francis Way is a backcountry trail relatively far from Eugene-Springfield, but it is a good backcountry trail. The great outdoors trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. Through the summertime months at Francis Way temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's. Summer   overnight lows dip down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Francis Way. This backpacking and hiking trail has only one trailhead, so you'll be backcountry backpacking it in and back out. The total elevation difference for this backpacking and hiking trail is 136 feet which is lower than average. These backpacking and hiking trails here in the Central Cascade Range are a nice way to explore these mountaintops. Even though this is not a very long backcountry hiking trail it's always great to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This area does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Briefly about the general area: All year is a tremendous time in the Central Cascade Range if you fancy the outdoors. Stay the night at Slim Chance Campground. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Francis Way has to offer, you can camp at River View RV Park.
