Oregon is a brilliant place to go. With its 7.2 miles of walking distance it's an average length hiking trail. Fox Creek Trail is a quite wet spot regularly with much rain; December is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is July. Keep in mind that this is a long
| | backpacking trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Fox Creek Trail. All through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and night lows at Fox Creek Trail through the wintertime regularly drop into the 30's. which makes it a splendid backcountry trail for experienced backcountry trekkers in nice shape. These hiking trails here in the Central Cascade Range are a really good way to spend quality time in the wilderness. The total elevation difference for this hiking trail is 1,917 feet
which is about average. The time needed for this hike is roughly 6 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Some parts of Fox Creek Trail are much higher up than other parts of the hiking trail, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently
at different elevations. At parts of the year this region sees very little rain, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Fox Creek Trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out backcountry trek.
Briefly about the general
area: Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Collawash River, and there's some flowing water close by, Fox Creek is a stream you can pop by during your stay. This is such a great river. Scorpion Creek flows through this area, and why not
camp at Detroit Lake State Park while you're here at Fox Creek Trail. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Cascade Range. If you come at the right time of year, Breitenbush River offers some great whitewater, and camping at Fox Creek Trail is good fun, B and B Rentals is a good local campground.
