Oregon hiking trails - Fox Creek Trail, Central Cascade Range, Marion County

   
  A lengthy tour separates Hood River from Fox Creek Trail, but you always have an excellent time when you're trekking along it. Every backpacking trail in Oregon has its own character. This part of Oregon is always a joy to have a look at during backcountry backpacking season. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in spot. This is a region covered with lots of trails. Some parts of Fox Creek Trail are much higher up than other parts of the backpacking trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions
    on different parts of the backpacking trail. The time needed for this walk is roughly 6 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Backcountry trails for backcountry hiking, and backpacking can be found all over Oregon, and Fox Creek Trail in Marion
County is one of them. We all need to get out in the fresh air once in a while, and Fox Creek Trail in Marion County, Oregon is an excellent spot to go. At parts of the year this region sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Lots of rainfall falls at Fox Creek Trail; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. Fox Creek Trail has a total elevation difference of 1,917 feet, and that is about average.  
This hiking and backpacking trail is a mid length hiking and backpacking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a great trail for experienced trekkers in tremendous shape. The hiking and backpacking trails of the Central Cascade Range are a really fine way to spend quality time in the fresh air. Throughout the warm months at Fox Creek Trail highs are regularly in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Fox Creek Trail plunge into the 30's. This is a one trailhead wilderness trail, so you'll be backpacking it in and back out. This is a trail that is quite long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. With its 7.2 miles of walking distance it's a mid length backcountry trek. Here in the tremendous state of Oregon backcountry hiking never gets boring.

Briefly about the general area:
In the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Breitenbush River, and getting to Scorpion Creek from Fox Creek Trail is trouble-free. All year is a good time in the Central Cascade Range if you go for the outdoors. If you came for an overnight stay Detroit Lake State Park is a brilliant place to camp; some of the water nearby flows, like Fox Creek.
B and B Rentals is a great campground nearby, and whitewater paddling is good on Collawash River.
