This part of Oregon has a splendid deal of available outdoors activities. Being 5.6 miles long it's a mid length trek. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. There's not much difference in elevation along the backcountry hiking trail, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole backcountry hiking trail. Trekking here in the Central Cascade Range
    is a splendid way to explore these mountaintops. This backpacking trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. Fawn Lake Trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out hike. Gotta get out of the urban

a wet location; December is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is July. You should count on this hike taking about 5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. At parts of the year this region sees very little rain, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Through the days of summer highs here at Fawn Lake Trail reach the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. All through the winter the highs are frequently in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Fawn Lake Trail are in the 20's. This great outdoors trail has a total elevation difference of 863 feet which is lower than average. When you're here in Oregon backcountry backpacking along one of its backpacking trails is the wonderful thing to do.

Wharf Creek flows through this neighborhood, and why not have a look at Crescent Lake Dam since you're here. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a perfect time here at Fawn Lake Trail.
A quick tour to Rhodod Creek in the vicinity of Fawn Lake Trail is a glorious idea; Fawn Lake Trail is a nice spot to visit for more than one day, Shelter Cove Resort is a nice spot to camp nearby. And if that's not enough there's a lot more enjoyable things to do in the Central Cascade Range. Stay the night at Lake Lucile Campground; a short trip to Cold Spring is always worthwhile. If you're here at Fawn Lake Trail, do take a visit to Zims Point, and if time allows, Crater Lake National Park is a national park worth checking out.
