Fawn Lake Trail has a total elevation difference of 863 feet which is a lower than average number. This is not a very long wilderness trail but it's always delightful to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. There's not much difference in elevation along the backcountry hiking trail, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole backcountry hiking trail. With its 5.6 miles of walking distance it's a mid length walk. This wilderness trail sometimes gets very dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. This hike shouldn't take more than 5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Fawn Lake Trail is a one trailhead backpacking and hiking trail, so you'll be backcountry hiking it in and back out.
