Oregon hiking trails - Elk Lake Trail, Central Cascade Range, Marion County

   
  No chance of getting bored in Oregon if you like the fresh air. There are great outdoors hiking trails all over Oregon, and one of those is Elk Lake Trail in Marion County. If you happen to be in Oregon, why not go backpacking, it is so much fun. Sometimes this hiking trail gets really dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. This great outdoors trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this great outdoors trail good for hard core backpackers
    looking for adventure. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. The total elevation difference for this hiking trail is 1,845 feet which is an average number. Of course, this is an overnight hike, 2.5 days normally, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear
packed. This is a hiking trail that is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. This is an area covered with lots of great outdoors trails. Summertime highs at Elk Lake Trail frequently tend to be in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Elk Lake Trail are in the 30's. Elk Lake Trail sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain while July is the month with the least  
amount of precipitation. With its 17 miles of walking distance; it's considered a longer trek. Elk Lake Trail is a two ended hiking trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of hiking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. The stunning great outdoors trails of the Central Cascade Range are an excellent way to explore these summits. There are numerous great outdoors hiking trails in Oregon, and each one has its own unique splendor. A lengthy journey divides Hood River from Elk Lake Trail, but you always have a tremendous time when you're backcountry hiking along it. Different parts of Elk Lake Trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the trail. Gotta get out of the town man, and Elk Lake Trail in Marion County, Oregon is just what you need.

Briefly about the general area:
Pansy Basin is a splendid location here at Elk Lake Trail; the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Terrace Spring. There are some perfect whitewater spots on Breitenbush River; a great place like Toma Meadow here at Elk Lake Trail is too great to miss.
So many cool things to do at Elk Lake Trail, so little time. B and B Rentals is a splendid local campground, and why not a little side trip to Mother Lode Creek. This place, the Central Cascade Range, has so much outdoors fun stuff. A nice place in the vicinity of Elk Lake Trail is Beachie Saddle, and don't leave Elk Lake Trail without first paying a visit to Pegleg Falls. If you come at the right time of year, Collawash River offers some great whitewater; swing by Battle Creek it's a good spot to pop by.
So much entertaining stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range, not sufficient time. Elk Lake Trail is a great location to visit for more than one day, Skookum Lake Campground is a great location to camp nearby.
