This backpacking and hiking trail is many miles long having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough backpacking and hiking trail for advanced hikers looking for a great challenge. Eagle Creek Cutoff has two trailheads, so backcountry hiking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This backpacking trail has a total elevation difference of 2,830 feet which is a higher than average number. Being 14.6 miles long; it's a long backpacking and hiking trail. Eagle Creek Cutoff gets lots of water; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily December, that's the one that rains the most, and July is when it's the driest.

Sandy River is a good whitewater spot close to Eagle Creek Cutoff, and why not camp at Shining Lake Campground if you're here at Eagle Creek Cutoff. You can run the rapids of Roaring River in the neighborhood of Eagle Creek Cutoff, and La Dee Flat is right here at Eagle Creek Cutoff.
