Duffy Lake Trail is 9.2 miles long; it's considered a longer backcountry walk. This is a long wilderness hiking trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with
| | local forest authorities before you head out. Duffy Lake Trail regularly gets a great deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is December, and July on the other hand is the driest. Summer at Duffy Lake Trail comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Duffy Lake Trail. trailhead, so you'll be backcountry backpacking it in and back out. This wilderness hiking trail is a very long wilderness hiking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a splendid backpacking and hiking trail for experienced trekkers in tremendous shape.
This great outdoors trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the great outdoors trail could be very different from other parts of it. There are so many backpacking and hiking trails in this region. You should count on this trek taking
about 8 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. The total elevation difference for this wilderness trail is 1,541 feet which is about average.
Briefly about the general area: This
is such a great river. Places like Duffy Prairie are pleasant to visit; there's some flowing water close by, Swede Creek is a stream you can stop by while here. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range. Put some time aside to spend at Big Spring since
you're here at Duffy Lake Trail; Green Creek is next to Duffy Lake Trail and is always a joy to have a look at. Marion Flats is a wonderful site, and there's whitewater on Marion Creek for all you adrenaline people. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things near Duffy
Lake Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Duffy Lake Trail has to offer, you can camp at Tombstone Prairie Campground. There's so much to do here at Duffy Lake Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Detroit Lake State Park is a glorious place for that, and get your pulse rate up on the wonderful whitewater of Santiam River - North.
