    Trail through the warm months highs are in the 90's with night lows in the 40's. All through the winter this location gets highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Dry Cabin Creek Trail fall into the 20's. Oregon is a great outdoors state.

There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end which means you have the option of backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end.  
This is one of a very small number of trails in this neighborhood. Not much precipitation falls here at Dry Cabin Creek Trail; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain while July is ordinarily the driest month. Dry Cabin Creek Trail is 10 miles long; it's considered a longer hike. At parts of the year this region sees very little rain, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Some parts of this wilderness trail are much higher up than other parts of the wilderness trail, and that means that some parts of the wilderness trail could be very different from other parts of it. Now this backpacking and hiking trail is pretty long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. Dry Cabin Creek Trail is a wilderness hiking trail of tremendous length with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it an excellent trail for experienced backcountry hikers in splendid shape. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping.

The panoramas at John Day Fossil Beds National Monument will blow your mind, and a short journey to Cold Spring is always worthwhile. You just ought to love Dry Cabin Creek Trail.
