Oregon hiking trails - Dog River Trail, Central Cascade Range, Hood River County

   
  Oregon has lots of outdoors pastimes. Hey, time for a walk don’t you think? Dog River Trail in Hood River County, Oregon is just what you need. Here in the splendid state of Oregon hiking is the splendid thing to do. The high level of rain makes Dog River Trail a quite wet location; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Dog River Trail is not very close to Hood River at all, but it is a tremendous backcountry trail. Dog River Trail has a total elevation difference
    of 1,302 feet, and that is about average. Summertime highs at Dog River Trail generally tend to be in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at
Dog River Trail sink into the 30's. This is just one of a large number of trails in this region. This trek shouldn't take more than 4 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Every hiking trail in Oregon is different from the others. With its 4.6 miles of walking distance it's an average length hiking and backpacking trail. This is a two-ended great outdoors trail with two trailheads, so backcountry hiking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Dog River Trail stays roughly within  
the same elevation zone the whole time, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole hiking and backpacking trail. Sometimes this backcountry trail gets really dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Backcountry trekking here in the Central Cascade Range is a splendid way to explore these highlands. Even though this is not a very long backcountry trail it's always great to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. Dog River Trail is a normal length backpacking and hiking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this trail glorious for the average walker looking for an exciting adventure. Backpacking trails for hiking, and backpacking can be found all over Oregon; one of them being Dog River Trail in Hood River County. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in site.

Why not camp at Nottingham Campground if you're here at Dog River Trail; why not have a look at nearby Buck Creek if you're here at Dog River Trail. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range. A pleasant tour to Horkelia Meadow is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.
Polallie Creek is a pretty stream that is worth visiting, and Hood River - East Fork is a glorious whitewater spot nearby. If you wish for a little side spree, try Weygandt Canyon, and if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Hood River - West Fork. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff close to Dog River Trail. The smiling folks of Hood River like to hang out close by, and don't leave Dog River Trail without first paying a visit to Powder Springs.
So much fun stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range, not enough time. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Clinger Spring, and a good spot to camp here at Dog River Trail is Clinger Campground.
