Finally, backcountry trekking time is here again, and Devils Canyon Trail in Clackamas County, Oregon is the outdoors at its best. This backpacking and hiking trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end.     Cascade Range is a very glorious way to see these peaks. This great outdoors trail is a great outdoors trail of glorious length with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a perfect backcountry trail for experienced backcountry walkers in great shape. There are numerous
backpacking and hiking trails in Oregon, and each one has its own character. Oregon has plenty of perfect backpacking and hiking trails, and Devils Canyon Trail in Clackamas County is one of them. Devils Canyon Trail is to be found a pretty long journey from Hood River, but you always have a brilliant time when you're backcountry trekking along it. Some parts of Devils Canyon Trail are much higher up than other parts of the backcountry trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backcountry trail.  
Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Keep in mind that this is a long hiking trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. The total elevation difference for this backpacking and hiking trail is 1,797 feet, and that is about average. For the period of the warmest time of the year, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Devils Canyon Trail. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Devils Canyon Trail. Devils Canyon Trail is a wet place that gets a lot of precipitation; December is when you get the most rain here, and July is when it's the driest. Now, this is roughly a 1.5-day hike, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed.

Briefly about the general area:
Devils Canyon Trail is near Zigzag Canyon which is unquestionably worth visiting, and don't leave Devils Canyon Trail without first paying a visit to Yocum Falls. There's so much to do here at Devils Canyon Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Devils Meadow Campground is a fine place for that; a tour to Ramona Falls will fill your soul with tremendous feelings.
But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. A magnificent spot for whitewater paddling next to Devils Canyon Trail is Sandy River; there's some flowing water close by, Wind Creek is a stream you can take a look at while you're here. So much exciting stuff near Devils Canyon Trail, truly astonishing. Devils Canyon Trail is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Twin Bridges Campground is a delightful local campground; Old Maid Flat is a splendid spot.
This is a popular place for folks from Hood River; as expected Lady Creek flows through this region. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Cascade Range. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Zigzag River; Wind Creek Basin is a tremendous place to check out.
