Oregon hiking trails - Dead End Trail, Southern Cascade Range, Jackson County

   
  This part of Oregon is always a joy to visit during backcountry hiking season. Every backpacking and hiking trail in Oregon is well worth a walk. A long drive separates Medford from Dead End Trail, but wilderness trails like these are nice. This backcountry trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. There's not much difference in elevation along Dead End Trail which means the conditions
    are about the same from start to finish. Going for a walk here in Oregon never gets boring. This trek shouldn't take more than 4.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's
to Dead End Trail. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Dead End Trail. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while, and Dead End Trail in Jackson County, Oregon is an outstanding choice. Dead End Trail is 5.4 miles long it's a mid length backcountry walk. This is not a very long backcountry trail but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens.

Briefly about the general area:
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. Bourbon Spring is a wonderful local attraction, and camping at Dead End Trail is great fun, Saddle Campground is a great local campground.
Why not camp at Willow Lake Resort if you're here at Dead End Trail, and naturally Beaver Fork flows through this vicinity. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Southern Cascade Range. Porcupine Spring is a gorgeous place to go to while you're at Dead End Trail, and Parker Meadow is a wonderful location here at Dead End Trail. At this river you will always have a good time. North Fork Fourbit Creek is a stream that you may run into while you're here, and everybody loves Sheep Camp Glades.
