ended hiking trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry hike it just one way. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. Being 2.2 miles long it's a shorter type backcountry walk. The time needed for
this trek is roughly 2 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This is one of a very small number of hiking and backpacking trails in this region.
Briefly about the general area: Camping is available at Ray Cole Campground; a trip to
John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is worthwhile. These mountains rock, just explore all the cool stuff to do in the Blue Mountains. A good place to camp here at Davis Trail is Clyde Holliday, and everyone loves Coxie Meadow.
