Oregon hiking trails - Cougar Creek Trail, Blue Mountains, Grant County

   
  Time to get out, and breathe some fresh air, and Cougar Creek Trail in Grant County, Oregon is a nice place to go. Oregon has so much to offer the fresh air lovers. Oregon has plenty of delightful wilderness trails; Cougar Creek Trail in Grant County is one of them. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This region does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. This backpacking and hiking trail goes through some very different elevations, and
    that means that some parts of the backpacking and hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. Here in Oregon trekking is the delightful thing to do. Cougar Creek Trail is 13 miles long; it's longer than many backpacking and hiking trails. Cougar Creek Trail has
only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to backcountry hike it normally. For the duration of the summer months at Cougar Creek Trail highs are mostly in the 80's while overnight lows are usually in the 30's. Highs through the winter are usually in the 30's, and overnight lows through the winter for Cougar Creek Trail tend to be in the 10's. A long drive separates Pendleton-Hermiston from Cougar Creek Trail, but it is a nice sanctuary from the town. Cougar Creek Trail has a total elevation difference of 2,106 feet which is an average number. Cougar Creek  
Trail is a very long hiking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a tremendous great outdoors hiking trail for experienced backcountry hikers in perfect shape. Of course, this is an overnight backcountry hike, 2 days normally, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. Hiking trails like this one here in the Blue Mountains are a really good way to spend quality time in the fresh air. Cougar Creek Trail is a location that is reasonably dehydrated frequently; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. Every Oregon wilderness trail is delightful in its own way. Now this backcountry trail is pretty long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. This is just one of a large number of great outdoors hiking trails in this area.

Briefly about the general area:
Just can't get enough of the Blue Mountains. If you feel like a little side journey, try Fitzwater Gulch, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend John Day River - North Fork. Kelsay Meadows is a good place, and getting to Corral Creek from Cougar Creek Trail is uncomplicated.
And if that's not sufficient there's lots more cool things to do in the Blue Mountains. Places like Lost Horse Meadow are good to pop by. So much entertaining stuff to do at Cougar Creek Trail, so little time. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Cougar Creek Trail has to offer, you can camp at Trough Creek Campground, and a tour to Cougar Creek Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Kelsay Spring. Handy Spring is an inspiring spot to pop by during your stay, and there's whitewater on Grande Ronde River for all you adrenaline rush seekers.
Take a little visit to Simpson Creek if you're here at Cougar Creek Trail. There's so much to do here at Cougar Creek Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Lehman Hot Springs is a good location for that.
