Keep in mind that this is a long backcountry trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This backcountry hike should take you about 2 days, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed.  
The total elevation difference for this hiking trail is 2,106 feet which is an average number. This region does get very dry sometimes, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. At Cougar Creek Trail you don’t see much rainfall; most of the rain falls during November while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Cougar Creek Trail is a one trailhead hiking trail, so in and out is the way to hike it normally. The wilderness trails of the Blue Mountains are the best way to enjoy these mountains. With its 13 miles of walking distance; it's a long great outdoors hiking trail. There are so many delightful backcountry hiking trails for backpacking in Oregon, and Cougar Creek Trail in Grant County is one of them.

Why not camp at Lehman Hot Springs if you're here at Cougar Creek Trail; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Grande Ronde River.
