Oregon hiking trails - Cottonwood Creek Trail, Wallowa County

For the period of the summer here at Cottonwood Creek Trail, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. Throughout the winter
    highs are generally in the 30's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Cottonwood Creek Trail. This backcountry hike should take you about 4 days, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. It's a lengthy drive from Lewiston to Cottonwood Creek Trail, but
it sure is a a perfect wilderness trail. Around Cottonwood Creek Trail you don’t get a lot of precipitation; May is the wettest month with most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. The length of this wilderness hiking trail is on the longer side having an average number of uphill miles which makes this trail tremendous for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. This is one of many trails in the surrounding area. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each  
end, so backpacking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. This is a hiking trail that is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. With its 27 miles of walking distance; it's a long hiking trail. Gotta get out of the urban center man, and if you happen to be in Wallowa County of Oregon, Cottonwood Creek Trail is a perfect local wilderness trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Different parts of Cottonwood Creek Trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. This hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 4,338 feet, and that is higher than average.

While you're here at Cottonwood Creek Trail it's a glorious idea to go to Bear Flat, and there's some flowing water nearby, Bear Creek is a stream you can have a look at while you're here.
Deadhorse Creek flows through this vicinity, and Kernan Spring is a gorgeous place to check out while you're at Cottonwood Creek Trail. A pleasant journey to Billy Meadows is a splendid way to spend an afternoon; get covered with water paddling on Snake River. But wait, there's more to do near Cottonwood Creek Trail. If you came for an overnight stay Kirkland Campground is a magnificent location to camp, and obviously, A journey to Smooth Gulch is always fun.
Wildhorse Spring is a magnificent local attraction, and whitewater paddling is great on Grande Ronde River.
