temperatures frequently get into the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. During the winter this location gets highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Cool Camp Trail dip into the 30's. You should count on this backcountry trek taking about 5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. This hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 1,258 feet which is about average. This backcountry hiking trail is a mid length backcountry hiking trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this backcountry trail tremendous for the average backcountry walker looking for an enjoyable adventure. Cool Camp Trail is a two ended hiking trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can hike it just one way. Cool Camp Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish.

Briefly about the general area:
Put some time aside to spend at McNabb Falls if you're here at Cool Camp Trail. Tombstone Prairie Campground is a perfect local campground; get yourself into a kayak and hit Canal Creek.
This place, the Central Cascade Range, has so much outdoors enjoyable things. It's a pleasant idea to visit Donaca Creek, it's next to Cool Camp Trail, and float down the rapids of Santiam River - Middle in a kayak. If you came for an overnight stay Country Star Recreational Vehicle Park is a delightful location to camp, and don't forget to take a delightful little spree to Jude Creek.
