This backcountry trail has a total elevation difference of 1,258 feet, and that is about average. Cool Camp Trail is a two ended backcountry trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. This hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. This hiking trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. You should count on this backcountry walk taking about 5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Being 5.8 miles long it's a mid length trek. The wilderness trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your trek.
