climbing distance which makes this a very tough wilderness hiking trail for advanced backcountry walkers looking for a splendid challenge. This trek shouldn't take more than 5.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. When
you're here in Oregon backcountry hiking along one of its great outdoors hiking trails is so much fun. You spend the whole backcountry trek in roughly the same elevation zone, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole great outdoors trail.

Hemlock Lake Campground is a good campground nearby; do put some time aside to spend at Cold Spring since you're here at Cold Spring Trail. That right there is a load already, but it keeps on going; Cold Spring Trail has it all. A pleasant visit to Wickiup
Meadow is a splendid way to spend an afternoon, and if you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rogue River - North Fork.
Christis Spring is always fun to check out, and of course Long Creek flows through this region. So much cool stuff
to do in the Southern Cascade Range, not sufficient time. Cold Spring Trail is a great place to visit for more than one day, Sevenmile Marsh Campground is a great place to camp nearby, and since you're here at Cold Spring Trail it's a nice idea to pop by Seven Lakes Basin. There's
no way anyone can get bored here in the Southern Cascade Range.
A trip to Crater Lake National Park is recommended, and there's some flowing water nearby, Penn Creek is a stream you can stop at while here.
