A lengthy tour divides Hood River from Cold Spring Trail, but backcountry trekking along this backpacking trail is very enjoyable. Every Oregon backcountry hiking trail has its own character. There's
    not much difference in elevation along Cold Spring Trail which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. This backcountry trek shouldn't take more than 3.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Please
follow all local rules about fires and camping. Here in the tremendous state of Oregon backpacking is a splendid idea. Sometimes this backpacking trail gets really dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Being 4.2 miles long it's a mid length hike. Cold Spring Trail is a one trailhead great outdoors hiking trail, so you'll be backcountry hiking it in and back out. This backpacking trail is not that long but it's always good to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. The total elevation difference  
for Cold Spring Trail is 1,284 feet which is about average. High temperatures at Cold Spring Trail all through the warm days of summer are in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Cold Spring Trail. This hiking and backpacking trail is a normal length hiking and backpacking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a splendid wilderness hiking trail for the average person looking for a splendid adventure. Cold Spring Trail typically gets a lot of rain; the month with most of the rain is December, and July is the month with the least moisture. The hiking and backpacking trails of the Central Cascade Range are the best way to enjoy these hills.

That right there is loads of fun things already but it goes on, the Central Cascade Range has it all. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Clackamas River; do visit Cotton Creek since you're here at Cold Spring Trail. There's so much to do here at Cold Spring Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Skookum Lake Campground is a perfect place for that, and swing by Wool Creek it's a delightful location to explore.
There's whitewater on Roaring River for all you adrenaline kick people, and Cold Spring Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, Pelton Park is a great local campground.
