  Going for a hike here in Oregon is so much fun. Chimney Peak Trail is a trail relatively far from Albany-Lebanon, but backcountry hiking along this trail is very exciting. Good hiking trails in Oregon are in abundance; one of them being Chimney Peak Trail in Linn County. All the water falling down from the sky makes Chimney Peak Trail a wet spot; most of the rain falls through December while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This is a hiking trail that is quite long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. Chimney Peak Trail
    has a total elevation difference of 2,987 feet which is a higher than average number. This is just one of a large number of hiking and backpacking trails in this neighborhood. The stunning trails of the Central Cascade Range are a really splendid way to spend quality time in the
outdoors. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Chimney Peak Trail with night lows in the 40's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and night lows in the 30's for Chimney Peak Trail. Oregon has so much to offer the outdoors lovers. Different parts of Chimney Peak Trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. Chimney Peak Trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out trek. Please follow all local rules about fires  
and camping. Now, this is roughly a 3-day backcountry walk, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. Each hiking trail in Oregon is wonderful in its own way. Chimney Peak Trail is 19 miles long; it's a long hiking trail. Can’t wait to get out in the fresh air, if you happen to be in Linn County of Oregon, Chimney Peak Trail is a magnificent local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. This trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough hiking and backpacking trail for advanced walkers looking for a nice challenge.

Briefly about the general area:
Coming to this river is always a good idea. Gregg Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at; do schedule some time to pop by Bloody Point if you have a chance. Stay the night at Tombstone Prairie Campground, and a trip to McNabb Falls will fill your soul with nice feelings.
Canal Creek has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot nearby, and a pleasant trip to Little Meadows is a splendid way to spend an afternoon. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Central Cascade Range. West Fork McQuade Creek is next to Chimney Peak Trail and is always a delight to go to, and Red Heifer Pass is a good place to stop by. So much entertaining stuff in the Central Cascade Range, just fantastic.
What a place this is for outdoors folks. Detroit Lake State Park is a perfect campground here, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Santiam River - Middle.
