  You'll have to go far from Albany-Lebanon to get to Chimney Peak Trail, but It's always fun to hike here. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in nature a bit, and Chimney Peak Trail in Linn County, Oregon is just what you need. A visit to Oregon is not complete without some backpacking. There are so many hiking and backpacking trails in this area. The total elevation difference for this great outdoors trail is 2,987 feet, and that is higher than average. At Chimney Peak Trail throughout the summer highs are in the 70's. For the period
    of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 40's with temperatures at Chimney Peak Trail dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. There is only one trailhead, so in and out is the
way to walk it normally. Now this hiking trail is pretty long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. Chimney Peak Trail is a wilderness trail of splendid length with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough hiking and backpacking trail for advanced backcountry trekkers looking for a tremendous challenge. Hiking trails for backcountry hiking, and backpacking can be found all over Oregon; Chimney Peak Trail in Linn County is one of them. The wilderness trails of the Central Cascade Range are a good way to explore these mountains.  
Chimney Peak Trail goes through some very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. This backcountry hike should take you about 3 days, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. There are numerous backpacking and hiking trails in Oregon, and each one is worth backcountry hiking. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. All the water falling down from the sky makes Chimney Peak Trail a wet site; December is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. Backpacking here in Oregon is so much fun. Chimney Peak Trail is 19 miles long; it's longer than many backpacking and hiking trails.

If you came for an overnight stay Detroit Lake State Park is a delightful place to camp, and don't forget to have a look at Bloody Point since you're here. And that's not all there is to do here in the Central Cascade Range. Country Star Recreational Vehicle Park is a magnificent campground nearby, and whitewater paddling is perfect on Canal Creek.
Just can't get enough of the Central Cascade Range. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Santiam River - Middle; Red Heifer Pass is certainly a splendid site to explore. Chimney Peak Trail truly is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise. Gregg Creek is a nice local stream, and a tour to Chimney Peak Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at McNabb Falls.
West Fork McQuade Creek is a nice spot to visit, and you have to certainly dedicate some time to Little Meadows while you're here at Chimney Peak Trail.
