from other parts of it. There are not too many great outdoors trails in this area. Chico Trail is a two ended backcountry trail with two trailheads, so backcountry backpacking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Not much rainfall falls here at Chico Trail;

Campground while you're here at Chico Trail; if you're here why not explore Nells Canyon. If you came for an overnight stay Out Post RV Park is a fine spot to camp; as expected Little Elk Creek flows through this region. Don't leave Chico Trail without first paying a visit
to Double Spring, and there's some flowing water close by, Davis Creek is a stream you can go to while here. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff close to Chico Trail. A great location for whitewater paddling near Chico Trail is Grande Ronde River. Elk Spring is an inspiring place to stop at during your stay, and do set aside some time for Braham Meadows since you're here at Chico Trail.
