This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. This is a two-ended trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of backcountry trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. The time needed for this backcountry hike is roughly 9 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Chicago Trail is quite long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Chicago Trail is 10.4 miles long; it's longer than many backcountry hiking trails.
