Buck Cabin Trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of backpacking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. This is not a very long wilderness trail but it's always pleasant to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. There's not much difference in elevation along the hiking and backpacking trail which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. This walk shouldn't take more than 4.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. With its 5.2 miles of walking distance it's an average length hiking and backpacking trail. This great outdoors trail has a total elevation difference of 1,425 feet which is about average. Sometimes this wilderness trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire.
