Quite far from Bend you encounter Broken Top Trail, but it's one of those places where backpacking is glorious. Throughout the summer months highs here at Broken Top Trail reach the 70's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Broken Top Trail. Broken Top Trail is 14.6 miles long; it's a
    long backcountry hiking trail. Broken Top Trail is a wilderness trail of magnificent length having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a good hiking and backpacking trail for experienced walkers in perfect shape. Each backcountry hiking trail in Oregon is well worth
a trek. The total elevation difference for this trail is 498 feet which is lower than average. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in location. Backcountry trekking in Oregon is so much fun. You spend the whole backcountry trek in roughly the same elevation zone, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your backcountry trek. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end which means you have the option of backcountry trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end.  
Oregon has plenty of good backcountry hiking trails; one of them being Broken Top Trail in Deschutes County. These wilderness trails here in the Central Cascade Range are the best way to enjoy these summits. Broken Top Trail is a wet location that gets lots of rainfall; all through the month of December you get the most snow around here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This is a long trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Now, this is roughly a 2-day backcountry trek, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. There are so many hiking and backpacking trails in this region.

All the outdoors fun things in the Central Cascade Range will keep you coming back many times. Dutchman Flat is a wonderful site any time of year It's always glorious to stop at Squaw Creek Falls. Why not explore close by Little Crater Creek since you're here at Broken Top Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Broken Top Trail has to offer, you can camp at East Lake Resort and RV Parks.
A river like this is too good to miss. There's so much to do here at Broken Top Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Upper Campground is a pleasant place for that, and while you're here, you could check out Crater Creek. Whitewater paddling is splendid on Deschutes River; while you're here, you might as well visit Happy Valley. So much fun stuff to do at Broken Top Trail, so little time. Don't leave Broken Top Trail without first paying a visit to Soda Spring, and in the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Squaw Creek.
Yeah, come up here to the Central Cascade Range for a wonderful time. A pleasant journey to Park Meadow is a great way to spend an afternoon.
