Oregon hiking trails - Black Rock Trail, Southern Cascade Range, Douglas County

   
  Finally, backpacking time is here again, and Black Rock Trail in Douglas County, Oregon is such a fine location. Oregon has lots of outdoors things to do. Relatively far from Medford you bump into Black Rock Trail, but it is a really magnificent great outdoors hiking trail. Every wilderness trail in Oregon is different from the others. This is a two-ended great outdoors trail with two trailheads, so trekking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Black Rock Trail has a total elevation difference of 926 feet, and that is lower than average.
    This great outdoors hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Here in Oregon backcountry hiking is something that is always fun to do. And keep in mind that there could be temporary
safety restrictions in location. Black Rock Trail is 4 miles long it's an average length hiking trail. Backcountry backpacking here in the Southern Cascade Range is the best way to enjoy these summits. This is just one of a large number of wilderness hiking trails in this region. This great outdoors hiking trail is not that long but it's always delightful to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. The hiking trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones  
along your backcountry trek. A good deal of rain falls at Black Rock Trail; most of the rain falls through November, and the driest of the months is July. This backcountry trek shouldn't take more than 3.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. There are so many pleasant wilderness trails for backcountry hiking in Oregon, and Black Rock Trail in Douglas County is one of them. For the duration of the months of summer at Black Rock Trail temperatures are commonly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are regularly in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Black Rock Trail. Black Rock Trail is a normal length backcountry trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a nice wilderness hiking trail for the average person looking for a nice adventure.

Briefly about the general area:
All the outdoors amusing things in the Southern Cascade Range will keep you coming back repeatedly. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Copland Creek, and if you came for an overnight stay Buckeye Lake Campground is a fine spot to camp.
The vistas at Crater Lake National Park will blow your mind; why not camp at Camas Creek Campground while you're here at Black Rock Trail.
