This is a one trailhead wilderness trail, so in and out is the way to backcountry hike it normally. The total elevation difference for this wilderness trail is 534 feet which is lower than average. This backcountry walk shouldn't take more than 3 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Bill Fruit Trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. You spend the whole walk in roughly the same elevation zone, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole backpacking and hiking trail. Bill Fruit Trail is 3.4 miles long it's shorter than many backpacking and hiking trails.
