  Finally, backcountry hiking time is here again, and Ball Point Trail in Wasco County, Oregon is a great location for getting out. There are plenty of great outdoors hiking trails in Oregon; each one of them has its own character. Ball Point Trail is situated a pretty lengthy drive from City of The Dalles, but there's magnificent natural beauty waiting here for you along it. There is only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out trek. Ball Point Trail has a total elevation difference of 1,641 feet which is an average number. Ball Point Trail is a
    normal length wilderness trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this backpacking trail great for the average backcountry walker looking for an amusing adventure. Some parts of Ball Point Trail are much higher up than other parts of the backpacking trail, so
keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. There are so many perfect great outdoors hiking trails for backcountry backpacking in Oregon; Ball Point Trail is one of them, and it's in Wasco County. The time needed for this walk is roughly 5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Backcountry backpacking in Oregon is such a magnificent thing to do. All the water falling down from the sky makes Ball Point Trail a wet spot; the month of December is the wettest with most  
of the snow, and July is the month with the least moisture. The wonderful wilderness trails of the Central Cascade Range are a magnificent way to explore these peaks. High temperatures at Ball Point Trail during the summertime months are in the 60's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Ball Point Trail. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Trekking in Oregon is a good idea. With its 5.8 miles of walking distance it's a mid length backcountry hike. Even though this is not a very long hiking trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. There are so many backpacking trails in this area.

Briefly about the general area:
Just can't get enough of the Central Cascade Range. Bennett Spring is a scenic location to check out while you're at Ball Point Trail, and camping at Dam Campground is always a good experience. Lots of people from City of The Dalles come to Ball Point Trail, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on White River.
Ball Point Trail is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Pine Hollow Lakeside Resort is a perfect local campground.
