Oregon hiking trails - Bagby Trail, Central Cascade Range, Clackamas County

   
  Bagby Trail is a long drive away from Hood River, but what a tremendous spot for hiking it is. Time to get out, and breathe some fresh air, and Bagby Trail in Clackamas County, Oregon is just what you need. When you're here in Oregon backcountry trekking along one of its backcountry hiking trails is something that is always fun to do. Bagby Trail is 5.4 miles long it's an average length backcountry trail. This is a neighborhood covered with lots of backpacking trails. This area does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you
    go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. You should count on this trek taking about 5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Bagby Trail is a mid-length backcountry hiking trail
with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this backpacking trail perfect for the average backcountry walker looking for an amusing adventure. The total elevation difference for Bagby Trail is 602 feet which is a lower than average number. Bagby Trail is a two ended hiking and backpacking trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of backcountry hiking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. There are many delightful backcountry hiking trails in Oregon, and Bagby Trail is one of them, and it's in Clackamas  
County. Backcountry hiking here in the Central Cascade Range is a very great way to see these mountains. Every backcountry hiking trail in Oregon is worth backcountry trekking. There's not much difference in elevation along the backcountry trail which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. A visit to Oregon is not complete without some backpacking. At Bagby Trail during the summer highs are in the 70's, and the overnight is fairly cooler of course, commonly in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while Bagby Trail overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 30's. Much rain falls at Bagby Trail; the wettest month of the year is commonly December, that's the one that rains the most, and July is the month with the least moisture. Bagby Trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens.

Briefly about the general area:
Paddling on Clackamas River is so much fun. If you came for an overnight stay Skookum Lake Campground is a great place to camp, and don't forget to take a good little journey to Sluice Creek.
So much entertaining stuff in the Central Cascade Range, just phenomenal. Camping at Bagby Trail is fine fun, Shining Lake Campground is a fine local campground, and it's a wonderful idea to explore Slide Creek. A spree to Toma Meadow rejuvenates the soul, and whitewater paddling is fine on Collawash River.
