This is a two-ended hiking trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. At parts of the year this vicinity sees very little rain, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. This is a backcountry trail that is quite long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. The total elevation difference for Bachelor Mountain Trail is 1,497 feet which is about average. With its 7.8 miles of walking distance it's a mid length walk. There's not much difference in elevation along Bachelor Mountain Trail, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole trail. You should count on this backcountry hike taking about 7 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.
