Trail; the wettest month of the year is usually December, that's the one that rains the most; July is when it's the driest. This is a long hiking trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip.
Briefly about the general area: Bruno Meadows is a glorious place to
check out, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Marion Creek. All year is a good time in the Central Cascade Range if you have a thing about the outdoors. Why not have a look at close by South Fork Buck Creek while you're here at Bachelor
Mountain Trail, and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Santiam River - North. Buck Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth going to, and Detroit Lake State Park is a good local campground. Bachelor Mountain Trail is a fine spot to visit for more than one day, Tombstone Prairie Campground is a fine spot to camp nearby.
