Oregon hiking trails - Alco Trail, Southern Cascade Range, Jackson County

    commonly are in the 80's at Alco Trail. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. Highs throughout the wintertime are usually in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Alco Trail. Alco Trail is 12 miles long; it's longer than many great outdoors hiking
trails. As long as you like the great outdoors you will like Oregon. Alco Trail is a backcountry hiking trail of wonderful length having an average number of uphill miles which makes this hiking trail pleasant for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Hiking trails for backcountry trekking, and backpacking can be found all over Oregon; Alco Trail in Jackson County is one of them. Alco Trail is a wet location that gets lots of rain; November is the wettest month with most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. Please follow all local rules about fires  
and camping. The backcountry hiking trails of the Southern Cascade Range are a fine way to explore these mountaintops. Going for a backcountry hike here in Oregon is a brilliant way to spend some time. Different parts of Alco Trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the great outdoors hiking trail. There are so many hiking trails in this area. Of course, this is an overnight backcountry hike, 2 days normally, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. This trail has a total elevation difference of 2,217 feet which is an average number.

Briefly about the general area:
A perfect place to pop by right next door to Alco Trail is Myers Canyon; don't leave Alco Trail without first paying a visit to Ragsdale Spring. All the outdoors cool things in the Southern Cascade Range will keep you coming back repeatedly. Umpqua River - South is a delightful whitewater spot near Alco Trail It's always pleasant to visit Oliver Spring.
So many fun things to do at Alco Trail, so little time. Some of the water close by flows, like Morine Creek, and you're sure to bump into some smiling people from Medford here. If you came for an overnight stay West Fork Trail Creek Mill is a pleasant location to camp, and getting to Hungry Creek from Alco Trail is painless. Yeah, come up here to the Southern Cascade Range for a good time.
Bear Mountain RV Park is a magnificent campground nearby; you can run the rapids of Jackson Creek.
