to do. Mount Rose Trail is a one trailhead trail, so you'll be backpacking it in and back out. This is one of a very small number of great outdoors hiking trails in this area. This backcountry walk shouldn't take more than 5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you
could get stuck so be prepared for that.
Briefly about the general area: Yeah, come here to Mount Rose Trail for a great time. A day at scenic Burnt Cedar Beach next to Mount Rose Trail is a great thing to do, and there are plenty of folks from Carson City here.
Tahoe Meadows is a splendid site to stretch your legs a bit, and if you're here, you might as well check out Contact Pass. In case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Truckee River; camping at Sandy Beach Campground is always a nice experience.
Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada rocks! Time spent at Incline Beach right next door to Mount Rose Trail is always wonderful; Mount Rose Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, Mount Rose Campground is a great local campground.
