Cathedral Rock Trail has only one trailhead, so you'll be backcountry hiking it in and back out. This hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 1,564 feet which is an average number. Cathedral Rock Trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. At parts of the year this vicinity sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. This backcountry walk shouldn't take more than 2.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Some parts of Cathedral Rock Trail are much higher up than other parts of the backpacking trail, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. With its 3 miles of walking distance it's a short backpacking trail.
