For the period of the months of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Waimanu Trail. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 70's. The winter comes with highs in the 70's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Waimanu Trail temperatures sink to the 60's. Now, this is roughly a 2-day backcountry walk, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. There is only one trailhead, so you'll be trekking it in and back out. Don’t forget to check for   any current restrictions or closures before you go. Keep in mind that this is a long trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. From a rain point of view Waimanu Trail is a quite common spot; January is the month that gets the most rain, and September meanwhile is the driest month.
