Hawaii hiking trails - Naulu Trail, Hawaii County       Hiking in Hawaii is so much fun. Gotta get out of the town man, and if you happen to be in Hawaii County of Hawaii, Naulu Trail is a perfect local hiking trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Hawaii is a splendid location for walkers. This is a region covered with lots of backcountry trails. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. This trek shouldn't take more than 3.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. There are hiking trails all over Hawaii, and Naulu Trail in     Hawaii County is one of them. This trail is a mid length trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a perfect backcountry trail for the average person looking for a perfect adventure. Naulu Trail sees pretty high levels of rain; March is when you get the most rain here, and June on the other hand is the driest. Quite far from Hilo you discover Naulu Trail, but backpacking it is always exciting. The total elevation difference for Naulu Trail is 632 feet which is lower than average. Each hiking trail in Hawaii has something unique to offer. Naulu Trail is 4.2 miles long it's a mid length backcountry hike. There's not much difference in elevation along the trail, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole trail. This is not a very long hiking trail but you should still bring some emergency supplies   just in case something happens. Naulu Trail has only one trailhead, so you'll be trekking it in and back out. For the duration of the warmest time of the year, highs typically are in the 60's at Naulu Trail. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 60's while Naulu Trail night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 40's. Briefly about the general area: Naulu Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, Nmakanipaio Campground is a great local campground. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is a very nice spot to explore next to Naulu Trail, and Naulu Forest is a forest that you can go to.
