Hawaii hiking trails - Maulua Trail, Hawaii County       Every Hawaii backpacking and hiking trail is lovely in its own way. There are backpacking and hiking trails all over Hawaii, and one of those is Maulua Trail in Hawaii County. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in nature a bit, and Maulua Trail in Hawaii County, Hawaii is just what you need. While visiting this neighborhood in Hawaii it's a glorious idea to go backcountry trekking too. Being 2 miles long it's a short great outdoors trail. Maulua Trail is a very short backcountry hiking trail with an average amount of climbing distance     which makes this hiking trail good for the average walker looking for an enjoyable adventure. Maulua Trail is a wet site that gets a large amount of precipitation; through April this region sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is September. You spend the whole walk in roughly the same elevation zone, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your walk. Here in the tremendous state of Hawaii backpacking is a magnificent idea. Even though this is not a very long great outdoors trail it's always fine to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. This is one of a very small number of hiking trails in this region. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Maulua Trail; the overnight is fairly cooler of course, generally in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs   are in the 70's with winter lows in the 60's overnight here at Maulua Trail. This backcountry trek shouldn't take more than 1.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Maulua Trail has two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry trek it just one way. The total elevation difference for Maulua Trail is 89 feet, and that is lower than average. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. You'll need to go far from Hilo to get to Maulua Trail, but It's always cool to hike here. Briefly about the general area: The nice people of Hilo like to hang out close by.
